Imperia
This lovely town is at the heart of the Riviera dei fiori, it is crossed by the Impero Torrent that separates its two main residential areas: Oneglia and Porto Maurizio.
Oneglia is famous for its production of olive oil and you can learn all about and admire testimonies to the 6000 years of the oil’s role in art, religion, nourishment and in everyday life, by visiting the Museo dell’olio, the Oil Museum, situated near to the main town square..
The old town of Porto Maurizio is also well worth a visit. It is situated on a strategic outcrop and can be reached by cable railway..
The Porto Maurizio marina is host to the Historical Sailing Ships Regatta (every two years in September).
